Kris Wilson, PhD
Chief Operating Officer
Kris Wilson, PhD, is Chief Operating Officer for the HHSC East Hawaii Region, overseeing informatics, facilities, ancillary, clinical, and support departments. She has led construction and capital improvement projects since 2017, building on a technology career that began in 2007 with the launch of Hilo’s electronic health record system and related IT initiatives. Her clinical background is in imaging, with certifications in radiology, CT, and MRI.
Kris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management, a Master’s in Healthcare Administration, and a Doctorate in Health Science. As a Native Hawaiian, her research interests include technology adoption, digital equity, and electronic health literacy in disparate populations with a focus on Pacific Islanders.
